My friend has got new hens and already is giving away eggs.I went around to visit and see just how city hens live.
They are called Peggy and Sally and are happy, healthy hens enjoying their garden home and movable hen house.
During the day they can wander in and out of their cozy home but the door is closed at night for their security.
Here is their night nesting perch and straw filled nesting box where they each leave an egg each morning.
Below is my friend showing me how she scoops up the chicken poop and collects it in a plastic bag.
She then puts it in a bucket with water and uses the liquid to water her plants.
The hens Peggy and Sally have also made friends with my friend's dog Coco.Here Coco joins one of the hens inside the cage, where you can see the water and food feeders.
Coco has the advantage of being allowed inside the main house but friendship can still continue through the screen door.
