Here is the Mandala Garden at the entrance to the garden. This is a shared area where all members can plant, nuture and pick food.
There are forty individual plots and here we see some of them.
The garden area along the back fence was created by members during a working bee using no dig gardening techniques. This area is now the home of many young fruit trees and will make a wonderful walkway as the trees grow and bear fruit.
Here are some more of the individual plots. In addition to these forty plots we also have six raised areas for the disabled and a separate area used by young mothers who gather with their children once a week.
Here are a few of the members who gathered to hear Greg from Wormtec show us how to grow more nutrient dense food.
It was a great talk and we came to understand the Brix index with which we can measure the nutritional value of our food.
Now my goal is to increase the Brix readings of my vegetables. Look forward to sharing this process.
Don't know how I got such a serious photo, the gardeners are usually full of laughter. Must be my photography.
