It is such a joy to shower in my green bathroom.
It wasn't always a green room.
When I brought my house there was a small bathroom with a bath and a separate toilet.
They were opened up to make one spacious room.
The feeling of space was further enhanced by the use of shades of white for the tiles.
Both the walls and floor were tiled and new fittings added.
Extra space was created by putting the shower where a storage cupboard had been..
I left the shower open as it felt expansive, but water splashing was a problem.
This was solved by adding green plants to one side of the shower.
One of these plants had been dying but is coming back to life with the shower water that it receives.
The plants also also keep me mindful to use products without toxic ingredients..
In addition the plants clean the air around the shower.
It feels so good being in the shower and having plants so close, a real close to nature feeling.
I put a bath mat on the other open side of the shower
It doubles up as somewhere to dry the feet and collect spills in that direction.
I can't say enough how good it feels to shower in a really green shower.
