Wednesday Morning Varsity Lakes Community Garden

Wednesday mornings are always a special time at Varsity Lakes Community Garden.

While the young wonder at the special joy of growth, Sheila Perkins our president works at the sunny table outside the garden shed.

In the background part of the mural by a local artist, one of the original people of this area.

Winter sunshine and a rich moist soil, what more could a gardener want.

Pak Choi and Marigolds from my vegie patch.

The extra large picture below is my first broccoli of the season.

Will be eating this wonderful vegetable for the next seven months or so fresh from the good earth.

Lost a lot of early broccoli seedlings as eagerly planted too early, but now they are growing well and look forward to many good meals.
