After a long hot summer flowers and fruit trees flourish at Varsity Lakes Community Garden.A bee inhabits a whimsical corner of one vegetable patch where okra abounds beside pink daisies.
Bananas, cassava, tamarillo, coco yams, midyim berries, jaboticaba and passionfruit are among the many food bearing plants in the shared areas of the garden where restorative comfrey lines the paths.
It is exciting to watch as this community garden grows and takes on the character of its many members shared contributions and knowledge.
