SEW - Gold Coast's `Smart Empowered Women' - & One Million Women

The Inaugural meeting of SEW (Smart, Empowered Women) took place on Monday October 5th at Gold Coast Permacultures Urban Farm at 270 Ferry Rd.

It was a chance to plan future directions and to connect over a cup of sage and lemon tarragon tea from the garden and exciting plates brought by each member.

This is an open group where ALL ARE WELCOME  and the first meeting saw women of differing experiences, cultures and ages connected by the aspiration to share and learn new ways together.

Meetings begin at 10am and finish at twelve and will occur each fortnight.

At the next meeting on November the 19th it was agreed to take part in the The One Million Women Campaign  with one of the members introducing the concept of sustainability which is part of her current studies.

Future meetings will include quinoa recipes from a South American member, making creative personal badges from our craft expert, recipes without sugar and flour from one of our talented cooks, breast cancer prevention ideas from myself and  microbusiness and biodynamics from other members with knowledge in these fields.

This sharing is only touching on the varied skills presented at this first get together.

It looks like a positive and exciting year ahead  in 2013 under the beautiful mango loaded tree in this very special urban farm.
