With the success of the already established trees at Varsity Lakes Community Garden a new selection of native fruits was planted today.
It has been an adventure watching the abundance of the current innovative plantings at the garden including the prolific Brazilian Cherry whose flowers are seen here.
Now the garden will be blossoming with a further wide selection of native food bearing trees.
This will be a learning curve for all with trees planted including the Finger Lime, Sandpaper Fig, Small Leaf Tamarind, Peanut Tree, Morris Area White Mulberry, Davidson Plumb and Cinnamon, Aniseed and Lemon Myrtle.
It feels exciting to imagine the grown trees providing fruit for all and casting their shade over the garden open meeting area.
