Innovative Food Ideas Varsity Lakes Community Garden

Innovative ideas abound at Varsity Lakes Community Garden where every Wednesday morning is open day.

The native bee hive became alive with bees as soon as the sun rose, and Sheila our president is excited to see honey being formed in these creative native bee homes.

The flower painted old toilet bowl is now filled with bee attracting daisies. Another members creative contribution.

Bananas and citrus ripen together at the back of the garden, while marigolds give color to a members abundant patch.

Compost bays at the back of the garden are used for recycling garden waste and local tree cutters leave mulched trees in the park to build up garden beds.

And as with all gardens there is always watering to be done.
